Jazz Ensemble is an extra-curricular group that meets after school starting in November. Placement into the Jazz Ensemble is by auditions. The Jazz Ensemble is composed of students who feel the need to express themselves through popular music, rock, and jazz music. They must be able to demonstrate a high proficiency on their instrument to be able to meet the challenge that is created by this type of music. The course covers different jazz band styles and works on the development of improvisation by each member. Several performances are given during the school year for community groups who wish entertainment. |
